We work with patients and families to take care of everything.
It starts with a caring conversation.
A patient, family member or primary caregiver can call us at any time, with or without a referral from a doctor. We have an experienced team standing by to listen to your needs and answer any questions you have regarding hospice care. Contacting us does not obligate you to go forward with hospice care in any way.
We consult with the primary physician.
With permission, we contact the patient’s physician to discuss the possibility and timing of hospice care. Our medical team works with the physician to develop a plan of care that addresses the patient’s individual needs and ensures that the experience is tailored to you and your loved ones.
You can focus on what matters.
The Serenity team makes this transition as easy as possible — so you can focus on what really matters. Hospice care can generally begin the same day we receive an order from the patient’s physician. In some situations this can be within hours of your call.
Did You Know?
Serenity Hospice Care is 100% covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance companies.
2019 SHPBest™ “Superior Performer” Caregiver Satisfaction Award
Serenity Hospice Care, LLC has been recognized as one of only three Hospice programs in the State of Kansas to receive the “Superior Performer” award. The annual SHPBest TM Award Program was created to acknowledge hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care. The 2019 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall CAHPS Hospice survey satisfaction score for more than 1,400 hospice providers. With one of the largest CAHPS Hospice benchmarks in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made family and caregiver satisfaction a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the CAHPS Hospice survey.
WE HONOR VETERANS
We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) invites hospices to join this pioneering program that recognizes the unique needs of American Veterans and their families by offering guidance and resources focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment so that Veterans can be guided toward a more peaceful ending. Serenity Hospice Care has achieved the IV Level and works to care for and honor those who have served when they reach the end of their life.
My late husband had an entire team of professionals who were all caring, thoughtful, and simply the best kind of people. They became members of our family forever. I will always be grateful for the care and love they gave us during the last months of my husband’s life.
We cannot thank you enough for all that you did in caring for mom at Regent Park. What a blessing it was to have Serenity Hospice Care there. My mom, Betty, did not suffer as she left this earth and your complete dedication made it much easier to be with her and share our love. Thank you for the lovely card you sent, also. Your thoughts are so appreciated.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the superior quality of care Serenity Hospice Care provided my dad, Robert Lane. Everyone made a positive difference in our lives, especially during my dad’s last days. Thank you.
How do you express the deepest of gratitude to those who offer compassion and skill to the dying? I’m not sure I will find the right words. So, instead, I’ll tell you all how you made me feel… cared for, listened to, guided by, comforted and understood. You all are a big part of why my dad, Jim (who had lived a very large life), had such a good death. Dad wanted to go out quickly, without pain and he fulfilled that desire, with your help.
Thank you for the care you gave Liz during her stay at Westview of Derby Nursing Home. I am preparing her memorial service and can’t help but think of her last days in your care. I appreciate the courtesy and respect you gave her as you sustained her life. I have shared your business with others and recommend your team for friends who have an aging family member. Blessings to you all.
When our mother, Lillian Nelson, began failing, your team swooped in! Their quiet competence was a great source of comfort in a very trying time. Mariah was especially caring and patient in her daily interactions with Lillian. Hai lights up the room with her optimism. She always kept us informed in understandable language. Many thanks to all of you.
Let us take care of everything.
The word "hospice" was once used to describe a place of refuge for people on a difficult journey. Our excellent care and deep compassion for patients and families offer a place of comfort on the end-of-life journey. Recognizing that in hospice care the main guardians are the family caregiver and the hospice team, care is most often provided in the home setting or community setting, rather than in hospitals and hospice care facilities. The Serenity Hospice Care team will support the patient and family wherever they are to call home.
