We provide excellent hospice care so you can focus on what matters.

We work with patients and families to take care of everything.

It starts with a caring conversation.

A patient, family member or primary caregiver can call us at any time, with or without a referral from a doctor. We have an experienced team standing by to listen to your needs and answer any questions you have regarding hospice care. Contacting us does not obligate you to go forward with hospice care in any way.

We consult with the primary physician.

With permission, we contact the patient’s physician to discuss the possibility and timing of hospice care. Our medical team works with the physician to develop a plan of care that addresses the patient’s individual needs and ensures that the experience is tailored to you and your loved ones.

You can focus on what matters.

The Serenity team makes this transition as easy as possible — so you can focus on what really matters. Hospice care can generally begin the same day we receive an order from the patient’s physician. In some situations this can be within hours of your call.

Serenity Hospice Care coordinates hospice services in the comfort of the home, relieving stress for the family and allowing the patient to remain in a warm and familiar environment where friends and family may visit and offer care.

We will compassionately support you, as we develop a plan of care that is tailored to your needs.

Midwestern values guide the work of Serenity Hospice Care. We share a strong dedication to the communities that we serve, and we are proud of the genuine reputation that we have earned. We seek to make the remaining family time all that it can be, and to help each patient live their life to the fullest. Our hope is that each patient and family will feel more confident and cared for when Serenity Hospice Care is involved.

Levels of Care

As a hospice care provider, we offer hope to patients by helping them to transition successfully when the focus of care changes from cure to comfort. Our experienced team empowers patients and families by emphasizing the treatment of the person and not the disease. Serenity Hospice Care is a source of strength and expertise, providing uniquely tailored services for the mind, body and spirit in Wichita, KS, and the surrounding communities.

As a Serenity Hospice Care patient, in addition to the attending physician, you have the assistance of the hospice team. This team is a group of caring professionals who are committed to you and your family; they work to develop a plan of care that meets your needs and supports your choices throughout your journey.

Hospice levels of care are based upon the patient’s needs and the caregiver’s ability to provide care in an appropriate setting.

Routine Home Care is the level of care provided on an average day where the hospice patient lives.

Respite Care is an alternative care setting where 24-hour nursing is present to provide care. This level of care supports the caregiver during times of fatigue, stress, or illness.

Continuous Care provides “around the clock” care in the patient’s home until symptoms are controlled. This daytime companionship and nighttime support offers needed support when acute symptoms need additional management.

In-Patient Care is provided for brief periods when patient needs cannot be adequately met at home.

“To all the wonderful staff at Serenity. Thank you all so much for your wonderful care, compassion and supportive love that you gave my dad, Ned Felzien. I truly appreciate you. I know my dad was grateful to all of you as well. He is in heaven, walking, dancing, fishing, hunting and resting with his many friends who passed before him. Thank you for talking with us when we were in town and on the phone – we had great conversations. You are all wonderful, and we appreciate every one of you.”

“Thank you for your kind and gentle care of Ellen during her last weeks. Your help and care were and are much appreciated.”

“Serenity supported us as my father passed. Without their knowledge, help and kindness it would have been so much harder. We loved our nurse, Tony. I will never be able to express how we appreciated him. I would recommend using Serenity with no reservations.”

“The team that worked with [my father] was beyond supportive. As a family taking care of dad, we felt supportive empowerment to be able to honor dad’s wishes at the end of his life. This was such an incredible gift to our family.”

“I would like to thank Serenity for their care and compassion during my wife’s final days. Their presence and assistance were a great comfort to me. It seems that life is sometimes too short and we never know what the future will bring, and I would like to thank the Serenity team for everything that they did for my family and I.”

“We want the Serenity Hospice Care team to know how much we appreciated the care of our mom. They have a difficult job, but they handled each incident with grace and calm — we needed that because it’s difficult to watch someone you love deteriorate. Serenity was a huge help to us. I left each visit knowing my mom was in good hands and for that I am thankful. We are so very grateful for the Serenity Hospice Care team.”

“Thank you so much for all the kindness shown to my mother while she was under your care. All the hospice staff were so kind and so very helpful to us. I don’t know how we would have gotten through without all of your kindness. The last 3 1/2 months were filled with laughter as well as tears. Thank you so much for everything.”

“This is the best hospice team. They care, they work hard, and they catered to our individual needs . They gave so much of themselves and stayed as long as we needed them to.”

Let us take care of everything.

The word "hospice" was once used to describe a place of refuge for people on a difficult journey. Our excellent care and deep compassion for patients and families offer a place of comfort on the end-of-life journey. Recognizing that in hospice care, the main guardians are the family caregiver and the hospice team, care is most often provided in the home setting rather than in hospitals and hospice care facilities. The Serenity Hospice Care team will support the patient and family wherever they are.
